Investigation to be carried out for spilling water into cities of Sindh: Hussain Haroon
Pakistan News UN ambassador to Pakistan Abdullah Hussain Haroon said that relief campaign is being disturbed due to unavailability of foreign aid due to bad past record of Pakistan during 2005 earthquake.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi, Abdullah Haroon said that devastation of worth 20 billion dollars has been done so far in the country. He also said that after the 2005 earthquake aid issue, no foreign aid is being sent to Pakistan due to a bad past record; however this is causing problems for the flood relief campaign. Flood water was spilled into various cities of Sindh in order to save the agricultural lands of some influential people, so an investigation commission must be formed which should probe into this matter, he added. Abdullah Haroon also notified that this is the first time in history of UN that so much aid has been provided, although a lot more needs to be done.
